Based on the tempo of your music, the quality of how your movements are will vary but in most classical ballet pieces, the movements of the dancer(s) limbs are graceful and bouncy, as they are performing on Pointe shoes. Though in some more intense dances, the movements with the arms and torso are more sharp and fast as they are trying to bring life into the dance.
In ballet, it is always important to have your feet pointed and turned out — it helps with your technique. You should always advoid having sickled feet in your dances, as it is considered a mistake because you are pointing your feet the wrong way and it curves under and overall does not look nice, especially when done on stage. Having graceful arms always adds a polished look into the dance as the arms flow nicely rather than the arms having no rhythm or connection with one another.
When first begnning ballet, one of the first things you will learn is the five basic ballet positions, which has to do with your feet and arms. This is important to your learning because in every movement you do in ballet, they start and finish with one out of the five positions.
There are many different types of turns in ballet. Turns such as pirouettes, fouettés and à la secondes are all stationary turns. Turns such as chaine, coupé, piqué and step out turns are all non-stationary turns. Once you've mastered at least 2 or more of these turns, you can combine them into your own turn combinations.
Dances by yourself (solo) are called a Variation, dances with a partner (duet) are called Pas De Deux and group dances are just called itself.
Each ballet costume is traditional known for having a tutu, Platter Tutus are the ones you most commonly see in a classical ballet dance. With at least 10 layers of tool holding up, its quite beautiful seeing the tutu flow and bounce around with the movements of the dancer. Euro Tutus are bell-like shape tutus that fit around your waist. They come in different lengths, some are short and some are longer.
